
Kristen Anne Bell (born July 18, 1980)[1] is an American actor and singer from the United States. Her acting career began in the Tisch School of the Arts in New York. In the school she was a part of stage productions. The musical comedy The Adventures of Tom Sawyer was her Broadway debut. The Crucible revival came out in the year following. In the following year, she was a part of the action thriller Spartan (2004). The film was also praised for her performance as Becky Thatcher in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. In the following year she made her Broadway debut in a revival of the Crucible. She reprised the eponymous role in the 2014 movie and the reboot in 2019. Bell played the lead in the musical Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical (2005) as Mary Lane. This was a reprised role from her New York musical. Bell was also in Heroes, the superhero drama in which she played Elle Bishop, from 2007 to 2008. She voiced the titular narrator in the Teen Drama series Gossip Girl, reprising the role in the 2021 sequel. Bell also starred as Jeannie van der Hooven, the female protagonist on the Showtime comedy series House of Lies. Bell played the lead role of Eleanor Shellstrop on the critically highly acclaimed NBC comedy show The Good Place, receiving a Golden Globe Award nomination for her role.
