Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress who is best recognized for her roles in films in Ray Undercover Brother and on the tv show The Mentalist. She has a Bachelor's degree in African-American Studies and an MFA from Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis is an actor, producer as well as an American actress active in theatre as well as television and film. Her acting career started in the theatre. Then she appeared on numerous television shows in independent films, mainstream and films. She rose to fame as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico, and also appeared on BET's epic drama The Book of Negroes. For both of these roles she was praised by critics and received various nominations and awards including her first award, the Television Critics Choice Award for the best Actress. In 1995, she was the first to appear as Ariel on the stage in The Tempest. On Broadway, she has appeared in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. In her film career, she is most well-known for her role in movies such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. The role she played as a regular on the drama series High Incident on ABC High Incident earned her praises.
